Technology:

  • BB30: In addition to significant weight savings, this crankset provides reduced Q-factor, increased peg clearance, improved bearing durability and stronger crank construction.
  • BOOST: With revolutionary advances in bicycle components, such as the XX1, X01 and X1 drivetrains from SRAM, mountain bike designers have had almost unlimited freedom to focus solely on the performance of the bike. Every advancement demands that the whole thing work perfectly.
  • Aggressive trail and enduro riders are increasingly appreciating the benefits of big wheels, but many still consider 27.5 and 29 wheels a possible weak link
  • That's why SRAM has developed an open standard with Boost-compatible components for the SRAM drivetrain, RockShox hubs and forks.
  • GXP® GXP's Gutter Seal design reduces friction and weight, improving feel and performance.
  • PressFit: A variation of GXP's external crankset, PressFit reduces weight by up to 40 grams and makes installation easier by allowing you to press the bearing cups into the frame instead of screwing them in. It requires no modification to the length and diameter of the crank axle.
  • Pressfit 30? This is a new design by SRAM. It's all the best of the BB30 and Press-Fit bottom brackets in one exciting package. This crankset is designed for 30mm axle cranksets.
  • The main difference with the PressFit 30 is the way the bearings are mounted in the frame. The bearings are housed in nylon cups that are pressed into the bottom bracket of the frame.
  • PressFit 30 has an integrated seal, pre-assembled in the cups, to extend the life of the bearings. Frames will need to have a 46mm inner diameter bottom bracket to accommodate this system, the PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide bottom bracket, while the PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide bottom bracket.

Advantage:

  • Significant weight savings, reduced Q-factor, more space for pegs, greater bearing durability, stiffer and stronger crank construction, simple installation. Allows the use of larger diameter frame tubes, increasing frame rigidity.

Disadvantages:

  • Still in research. X-SYNC ? THE SRAM X-SYNC? 1X chainrings offer the highest level of performance and durability. The edges of the high square SRAM X-SYNC? teeth engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle-shaped teeth. The narrow, sharp tooth profile and rounded chamfer edges help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, X-SYNC? chain rings have been designed with mud clearing recesses for the chain links and inner rollers. Designed in Germany, the X-SYNC? rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1X?
