A flagship piece in the Aero collection fromEndura, the Encapsulator™ suit is the nec plus ultra aerodynamic garment for cyclists in constant pursuit of speed. Thanks to cutting-edge Drag2Zero (D2Z) technology, this second-skin suit proved its worth at several UCI WorldTour races, where it offered podium finishes to our teams pro. On the track, the suit helped Alex Dowsett and Bridie O'Donnell both break the UCI Hour record and leave their mark on cycling history.
Over 80 different combinations were created, tested and modified until we were finally ready to present it to the public. Optimized for speeds in excess of 45 km/h in a time trial position, the Encapsulator™ suit is the garment of choice for any time trial rider wishing to reach the next level.
Optimized for time trial speeds, 46-58 km/h
Unlike most autres brands, which only test their products at a single speed, Endura Drag2Zero takes into account critical variations in aerodynamic efficiency as a function of speed and position. For example, a suit optimized for a time trial rider, averaging 50 km/h in an aggressive position, is not necessarily the most rapide suit for a road bike rider chasing his personal best at around 35 km/h. The development of the Endura D2Z collection around this broader idea has enabled us to create products perfectly suited to the needs of different riders, not just faster at a certain speed, but in a whole category of speeds.
Silicone Surface Topography - SST™
This exclusive patent-pending technology was developed by Endura in close collaboration with Drag2Zero's Simon Smart, and approved by the world's top riders on the UCI WorldTour. SST™ technology is the result of years of research and development, during which we studied airflow in wind tunnels while developing new production methods to bring theoretical ideas into cycling reality. Strategically positioned silicone chevrons have a positive impact on airflow around the body, reducing drag at speeds appropriate for the targeted rider.
Encapsulator pocket
Initially banned, then accepted by the UCI, the Encapsulator pocket had a short but controversial existence. Its super-thin, translucent mesh allows the bib number to be clearly visible while maintaining the pocket's breathability around the number. A simple solution to the challenge of neatly attaching your race number, the Encapsulator pocket also preserves delicate fabrics from pin damage.
1000 Series Chamois (Aero)
The 1000 Series Italian stretch chamois is cut in one piece, so unlike traditional multi-layer leathers, it doesn't suffer from sudden changes in thickness. Its fast-drying, highly stretchable BioCeramic fabric cover features a permanent antibacterial treatment, making it one of the most advanced leathers in the world. The " Aero " version of this skin, which we use in the D2Z Encapsulator™ suit, has a specific shape for the most aggressive positions.
Multi-fabric construction
Endura 's long experience in textiles and its pursuit of "faster" fabrics come together in the D2Z clothing collection. The D2Z Encapsulor™ suit mobilizes a combination of five different fabrics to meet the needs of fit, comfort, strength and aerodynamic efficiency.
