Description
Tom Ritchey welded his first bicycle in his parents' garage over 50 years ago when he was just 15 years old. Since then, he's been riding, researching, designing and building legendary frames and components that have inspired generations of cyclists, influenced legends within the bicycle industry and won countless championships.
Almost from the beginning, Tom steered the bike he rode to the end of the tarmac, to wherever it was going. Along with his mentor Jobst Brandt and an ever-changing group of friends, Tom rode endless roads, trails and dirt roads on day-long adventures. Those rides nearly 50 years ago (and since) directly influence the bikes we ride today, like the Ritchey Outback - an icon in the gritty world of gravel and adventure bikes.
To celebrate Ritchey 's 50th anniversary and Tom's enduring and influentialesprit in off-road adventure, the Outback 50th Anniversary proudly sports a Half Moon Blue paint job - a stunningly beautiful light to deep blue that truly moves the soul. In addition, this limited edition is adorned with special Ritchey logos that reference the company's history and the influence that Palo Alto, California has had on Tom.
In addition to the stunning aesthetics of this special Outback, the frame retains all that the bike is known for. It has several practical and adaptable features that give riders the ability to continue epic experiences beyond the end of the road and the end of the day. Rack and fender mounts keep things dry and increase load capacity for long cycling adventures, while the space available for 700c x 48mm or 650b x 2.0in tires opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The frame accepts flat-mount disc calipers, and the Ritchey Adventure fork, made entirely of carbon fiber and featuring versatile leg mounts, gives you more room to stash the groceries you pick up at the last coffee shop.
Carefully TIG-welded with Ritchey Logic triple-welded steel tubing, the Outback frame offers the legendary ride quality of Ritchey, resilient on the toughest terrain and delightfully responsive when you want to open it up.
Road, off-road, trail, expedition, the Outback 50th Anniversary from Ritchey is designed to do it all.
