Shoes MXZ21-X

The MXZ21 is designed to be a high-performance cycling shoe, lightweight and offering a more athletic fit for inclement weather. Built on a carbon fibre and genuine rubber sole, it maintains incredible power transfer to the pedal, as well as grip and stability on slippery surfaces. The MXZ21 combines this high-performance sole with a windproof and highly water-resistant upper for foot comfort, while adjustable and unlimited speed laces keep your feet in place for quick pedal stability.

Size suggestion: For use with winter socks, we recommend ordering 1 to 1.5 sizes up from your usual cycling shoe size Lake.

Shape
MX Competition Last - Featuring a larger toe box and a tighter heel than the Comfort shape, with slightly more overall volume than the Sport shape. Exceptionally secure for tough rides/races, with enough room in the toe box to avoid pressure during climbs or walking sections. Designed for high performance riding and racing.

Outsole
The Competition midsole from Lake is 100% carbon fibre and is combined with the genuine rubber Mountain Competition sole, which offers extended protection. The Mountain Competition rubber sole includes larger lug blocks that provide excellent grip on almost all surfaces. This design ensures a stable and secure cycling shoe, suitable for inclement weather and various conditions.

Lining
The upper is made from soft-shell fabric, water-resistant microfibre and features a moisture-wicking lining with a sealed membrane barrier, helping to make this cycling shoe highly water-resistant and suitable for various conditions. Clarino microfibre offers excellent durability and the softness of leather with a significant weight reduction. The upper is then treated with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that prevents water absorption. Like all other products with water-resistant functionality, this DWR coating will need to be reapplied using a readily available DWR spray on the market. Exposure to elements such as rain and mud will eventually wear off this DWR coating, requiring reapplication when frequently used in such conditions.

Closure
Speed laces offer durability and quick opening and closing while staying securely in place. Easily replaceable speed laces offer hassle-free, unlimited customisation for a secure fit and unmatched comfort.

Water resistance
The uppers are treated with a durable water-resistant coating (DWR) that will wear over time. We recommend reapplying a DWR spray 1 to 2 times a year for moderate cyclists and every 2-3 wet rides for daily cyclists.
