Shoes MXZ21

The MXZ21 is designed to be a high-performance cycling shoe, lightweight and with a more athletic fit for bad weather. Built on a carbon fibre sole and real rubber, it maintains amazing power transfer to the pedals, as well as good grip and stability on slippery surfaces. The MXZ21 combines this high-performance sole with a windproof and very water-resistant upper for foot comfort, while infinitely adjustable speed laces keep your feet in place for quick pedalling stability.

Size suggestion: For use with winter socks, we recommend ordering 1 to 1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake cycling shoe size.

Shape
MX Competition Last - Characterised by a larger toe box and a tighter heel than the Comfort model, with slightly more overall volume than the Sport model. Exceptionally secure for hiking or racing with enough space in the toe box to avoid pinching while climbing hills or tackling bike hike sections. Designed for performance riding and racing.

Outsole
The competition midsole of Lake is 100% carbon fibre and is combined with the genuine Mountain Competition rubber sole, which offers extended protection. The Mountain Competition rubber sole features larger tread blocks that provide excellent grip on almost any surface. This design ensures a stable and well-anchored cycling shoe, suitable for bad weather and various conditions.

Lining
The upper is made from soft-shell fabric, water-resistant microfibre, and includes an absorbent lining with a membrane barrier sealed by seams, making this cycling shoe highly water-resistant and suitable for various conditions. The Clarino microfibre offers excellent durability and the flexibility of leather with a significant weight reduction. The upper is then treated with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating that prevents it from absorbing water. Like all other products with water-resistant functionality, this DWR coating will need to be reapplied using a commonly available DWR spray. Exposure to elements like rain and mud will eventually wear off this DWR coating, requiring reapplication when frequently used in these conditions.

Closure
Speed laces offer durability and quick opening/closing while staying in place. The easily replaceable speed laces provide unlimited customisation and ultimate for an optimal and secure fit, with unmatched comfort.

Water resistance
The uppers are treated with a durable water-resistant coating (DWR) that will wear off over time. We recommend reapplying a DWR spray 1-2 times a year for moderate cyclists and every 2-3 wet rides for daily cyclists.
