The MX239 mountain bike shoe is the latest version of one of our all-time favourite mountain bike shoes, designed for cyclists tackling remote and technical trails. This evolution of our legendary MX238 has been updated to include an integrated tongue on the medial panel of the upper for a firmer foot hold, ensuring that power is maximised for forward momentum through improved stability - a vital ingredient on soft and technical terrain.

The MX239 mountain bike shoe features a new internally reinforced fiberglass heel cup, creating a more stable heel hold, and has more space between the two BOA® dials for a better fit in the forefoot area. It takes one of our favourite off-road adventure cycling shoes to a whole new level of comfort, fit and performance, with a modern style as standard. Add to this the genuine rubber Mountain Competition outsole, and you've got a mountain bike shoe ready to take on any challenge.

Fit
MX Competition Last - Featuring a roomier toe box and a snugger heel compared to the Comfort Plus Last, and with a slightly higher overall volume than the Sport Last. Exceptionally secure for intense rides/races with enough space in the toe box to avoid pinching during climbs or tricky technical sections, while the wider toe box gives your feet a more natural fit and platform.

Outsole
The MX239 comes equipped with our 100% carbon fibre Lake Competition outsole, as well as our genuine rubber Mountain Competition outsole, featuring extended protection for excellent ground stability. This additional outsole protection helps ensure stability on all kinds of surfaces while providing the necessary performance on the pedals. The rubber extends over the front edge of the shoe, giving you significant protection against wear on soft terrain.

Upper
This latest high-performance shoe for off-road use is available with a Clarino microfiber upper or Helcor leather with mesh and Outlast heel lining. The abrasion-resistant Helcor leather is specially designed to be extremely durable against rubbing, scrapes, and scratches. The Clarino microfiber is extremely tough and resilient against the wear and tear of long rides on all types of terrain, retaining its shape and stability, while being lighter than full-grain leather and more durable at thinner gauges. This allows us to offer you a cycling shoe that remains stable in all riding conditions and withstands the test of time.

With your foot wrapped in our legendary Lake comfort, the Outlast temperature-regulating heel and tongue lining provides a luxurious feel for your foot, while maintaining a breathable, durable, and firm grip on your foot.

Closure
BOA® Fit System Li2 Dials. The Li2 dial is the most advanced platform in cycling, offering a precise and micro-adjustable fit in both directions and designed to withstand abrasion. No single element can be credited alone for the shoe's fit. The closure and comfort depend on multiple details, which is why here at Lake, we take the time to design shoes with what we believe to be the best comfort and closure systems. The double adjustment BOA® system is not exclusive to cycling, but it’s how we use this dial system in conjunction with our pattern work, our world-class shoe shape, and our selection of superior materials for the upper that makes this system work.
