Pioneers from the start in eco-design, love of nature and cycling, the French brand based in Provence continues to multiply its efforts to improve the eco-responsibility of its products.

• Use of recycled materials
• All helmets are made of 80% recycled materials.
• Use of recycled PET for the straps. Their manufacturer, Ho Yu Textile (www.hoyu.com.tw), transforms old plastic bottles into a fiber that is then woven to make the helmet straps. These straps have of course been tested and certified for their strength. By using recycled PET, Urge reduces the consumption of fossil energy (plastic ? oil) but also recovers ("upcycle") waste that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill at best, or in the wilderness at worst.
• The shell of all helmets is made of recycled EPS (expandable polystyrene) foam, which is produced from the processing of waste from the automotive industry. The supplier of recycled EPS is the company Polysource (www.polysource.com/portfolio/eps-recyclable/).
• For all visors and chinstraps Urge uses recycled ABS (polymer), 100% for the visors and 35% for the chinstraps.
• Use of vegan materials
• Urge has been producing Veggie helmets long before it became fashionable. For the full face models, Urge has replaced all or part of the traditionally used fiberglass with a 100% natural and vegetable fiber: flax fiber. Flax fiber has similar properties to glass or carbon fiber. But unlike the latter two, it is a completely natural
• But unlike the latter two, it is a completely natural fiber whose production mobilizes low energy resources and whose waste is entirely compostable, thus without any impact on the environment.

• The boxes of the helmets are made of unvarnished cardboard, printed with black ink only. The small plastic packaging inside is being phased out. The helmets are packed in a corn starch bag that is entirely compostable and biodegradable.
