After launching the first saddles with CPC technology in 2013, a patented system using three-dimensional conical nanostructures that increase grip and vibration absorption, we decided to extend the 3D technology to the entire saddle to create a new ultra-light model with an innovative multi-sector cover designed based on pressure testing analysis.

The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS retains the same ergonomic T-shape and compact dimensions (245x137 mm) of the NAGO R4, the new multi-discipline saddle already adopted by professionals like Tadej Pogačar, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Pello Bilbao, and Alberto Bettiol.

DESIGNED FROM PRESSURE TESTING ANALYSIS

The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS comes from the study of MyOwn pressure mapping tests, the proprietary system of Prologo that allowed for a scientific analysis of the pressure areas exerted on the saddle by different professional and amateur cyclists.

The data collected enabled the design and production of an extremely light 3D saddle, with a cover made up of separate sectors able to best adapt to the various pressure areas and ensure optimal support and comfort during all phases of pedalling.

3DMSS, THE MULTI SECTOR SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY BECOMES 3D

The cover of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS combines MSS - Multi Sector System technology with an innovative 3D printing process, which has enabled the creation of five separate sectors for each side of the saddle, optimally adapting to individual pressure zones and following the cyclist's morphology.

Each sector features different complex geometric shapes, varying densities, and differentiated elasticity coefficients depending on position and function:

The rear section has a high density and a high elasticity coefficient, providing increased support for the ischial bones and facilitating the pulling phase of pedalling;

The three central sections have a low density and a medium elasticity coefficient, providing maximum comfort where soft tissues rest;

Finally, the front section features a medium density and a low elasticity coefficient to offer good support even when it's necessary to pedal on the edge of the saddle.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE, WITH A RECORD WEIGHT FOR A 3D SADDLE

Part of our design efforts also focused on improving a typical weak point of saddles made in 3D, their weight, which is generally higher than that of traditional saddles.

Thanks to data from the MyOwn pressure mapping tests, it was possible to identify areas of the saddle where the applied pressures were lower. The sections of the cover corresponding to these areas were crafted with specific 3D geometric shapes, designed to limit the amount of material used without compromising comfort or limiting the performance of the saddle.
