S6900 LLU MAX-E - Stainless steel radial bearing - (C3 clearance) - 10mm x 22mm x 6/9mm Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bikes to tackle the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX type bearings offer a load capacity that is 35 to 40% higher compared to standard radial bearings due to a special design where the maximum number of balls is inserted into the bearing, through a specially ground groove in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep grooves in these bearings, provide better lateral support for the twisting and multidirectional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing has deep groove raceways, with grade 10 balls and double lip labyrinth seals (LLU) for maximum protection against the elements, while maintaining a 90% fill of Almagard extra high-pressure grease inside. This radial bearing features 440C stainless steel races and grade 10 balls with double seals and a 90% fill of high-pressure, waterproof Mobil XHP 222 grease to withstand daily use and the elements. Not all stainless steels are equal. - Enduro only uses grade 440C stainless steel balls and races to ensure a long lifespan and superior corrosion resistance in applications and environments that may be less than ideal. 440C has the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all the stainless steel alloys in the 440 series with a high carbon content. As expected, it is also the most expensive alloy in the 440 series and requires multiple heat treatments and cryogenic treatments to achieve its superior mechanical properties. Although stainless steel has a 20% lower load capacity and is slightly softer than our standard 52100 chrome steel used in most of our bearings, stainless steel is an excellent alternative for use in wet conditions, if you wash your bike often, or when sweat can be an issue. All Enduro stainless steel bearings come with a two-year corrosion warranty. This bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by several bike brands, including Pivot. The Enduro bearing range is available in high-carbon chrome steel, 440C stainless steel, hybrid ceramic, and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless steel balls. Our bearings are always designed with deep groove races to accommodate the largest possible balls. All our standard bearings feature double lip seals that snap into a micro groove creating a true labyrinth to offer ultimate protection against the elements.
