SRAM has always strived to provide riders with component options that suit their own riding style. It goes without saying that some riders' pedaling styles benefit from oval chainrings, so we designed the new X-SYNC™ 2 Oval chainring to give them the advantage they expect. It's the only oval option available with our original X-SYNC™ 2 tooth profile, and thus the only oval chainring on the market fully optimized for Eagle™.

The radical new look and design of the X-SYNC 2 Eagle platter is a direct result of studies conducted by the transmission engineers at SRAM on the performance and wear characteristics of thousands of X-SYNC platters. We subjected all sizes of chainrings to countless environmental and mechanical tortures, abuse and neglect, both in the lab and in the real world, before arriving at a chainring that could increase the performance of the Eagle transmission in all conditions. The specific shape of the teeth was designed to perfectly fit the new Eagle chain, to increase chain retention and overall pedaling efficiency, while reducing friction, noise and wear.
