Technologies:
- DoubleTap: DoubleTap® allows you to change gears more easily and quickly, while eliminating the awkwardness and discomfort associated with two-lever systems. The DoubleTap system allows you to shift up or down with a quick and easy motion, with minimal effort, and provides maximum comfort regardless of your position on the handlebar. DoubleTap® uses two pawls, one to support the ratchet wheel and a second to move it up and down throughout the shift. The pawls are positioned so that they can snap into place depending on the distance and pressure with which you push the shifter. Very quickly, the stop pawl (04) moves the ratchet wheel (02) through the shift area. Shifting up is done by a longer movement of the lever (in the same internal direction as you lifted it, but without using the ergonomic maximum angle of 15°) with the support pawl (03) and the transport pawl, jumping alternately in a fast and smooth way. Position, position, position: the DoubleTap levers (05) work perfectly in any position for shifting. Their double-jointed design (01), completely independent of the brake pivot, allows easy handling from the top or bottom of the handlebars. Unlike other controls, DoubleTap® also allows you to press the shifter against the handlebars so you can sprint or attack without dropping the grips. With DoubleTap® controls, the shifter and brake levers are completely independent, each operating with its own pivot point. This not only allows for optimized shifting, but also eliminates the risk of unintentionally activating the brakes or shifting gears (an unfortunate side effect of the other brake/gear lever design).
- Exact Actuation: When we launched our road technology from scratch, we applied our proven 1:1 activation ratio SRAM in mountain biking (cable pull at the lever: derailleur movement). This technology simplifies and stabilizes the complex action of finding the balance between the design of the rear derailleur hanger, the limited space for the cog and the ideal cable tension.
