• Directlink: The DirectLink lever design from SRAM produces a solid, positive feel when you squeeze the lever to engage the brake. It offers a simple solution to give you a precise power reserve.
• Geometry: Your fingers pull in a straight line, but the brake levers move in an arc.
• Bottom line: Your fingers tend to slip on the ends of the levers as you pull. We've designed all of our brakes with the lowest X-factor in the industry (i.e., the distance from the center of the handlebar to the center of the lever pivot). This reduces the lever travel inward, creating an arc closer to your natural finger movement and more power is delivered to the brake lever. And the great thing is that all SRAM and Avid brake levers have it.

• Lightweight S4 4-Piston Caliper: The all-new S4 caliper features four machined, moly-coated aluminum pistons for consistent recoil and easy focus, heat shield insulation and Bleeding Edge adapter and porting technology for easy bleeds.
• Synchronizer Port Closure: The synchronizer port of a hydraulic brake is located between the reservoir and the lever cylinder bore. When the lever is depressed, a cup seal passes through this area and closes the port, pressurizing the system. The timing port closure system at SRAM features durable seals and an ultra-smooth cylinder bore finish, which produces reliable and consistent braking power.
